Costa Rica in September? GOOD or BAD idea?
I’m heading to Costa Rica at the end of September 2009, during the rainy season, and I’m concerned about the trip I have planned due to the rain. Will our plans in Monteverde and Arenal Volcano, be a wash out? We’re planning to zip-line, white-water raft, horseback ride etc. and I’d hate to get there and not be able to experience it all. Should I plan to go to Cahuita or somewhere more dry instead? Thanks!!
Early in September will be okay, it is still the light rain season, afternoon showers. But by late September the hard and more serious rainy season is on and it can rain for days at a time, drizzling mixed with serious storms. Cahuita will be even wetter than the Monteverde and Arenal area.
SO, if early september you will be fine, if late september, you will be wet most of the time.
